Vanguard is not a place for merchants or scholars. It is a Military Node, a fortress designed to project power. While Economic nodes worry about gold and Scientific nodes worry about books, Vanguard worries about War.

The Gladiator Government

The most unique feature of a Military node is its election system. In other nodes, you buy votes or get elected by popularity. In Vanguard, Last Man Standing is the only vote that counts.

  • The Election: A tournament bracket.
  • The Winner: Becomes Mayor. This ensures that the leader of Vanguard is always one of the best PvPers on the server. If you want to rule here, you don’t need friends; you need gear and skill.

Unique Content: The Bounty System

Vanguard is the headquarters for Justice.

  • Bounty Hunters: Only in Military nodes can you access the highest tier of Bounty Hunter contracts. These allow you to track Corrupted (Red) players on the map.
  • The Loop: Pick up a contract -> Hunt the target -> Claim their gear -> Return to Vanguard for rewards.

Strategic Value

Holding a Military node is vital for any warmongering guild. The passive buffs to PvP damage and siege weaponry mean that armies training in Vanguard are simply deadlier than those from a Divine or Scientific node.
