The Triangle of Mitigation
Armor is not just “Defense Value.” It changes how you play.
Light Armor (Robes)
- Defense: Low Physical, High Magical.
- Bonuses: Mana Regen, Cast Speed, Magic Crit.
- Best For: Mages, Healers.
Medium Armor (Leather)
- Defense: Balanced.
- Bonuses: Crit Chance, Evasion, Stealth Detection.
- Best For: Rogues, Rangers, some Fighters.
Heavy Armor (Plate)
- Defense: High Physical, Low Magical.
- Bonuses: Block Chance, CC Resistance, Health Regen.
- Best For: Tanks, Paladins.
Mixing Scaling
You can mix pieces!
- The 3/3 Split: Some Battle-Mages wear 3 Plate / 3 Cloth to survive assassins.
- Set Penalties: Be careful. Some “Full Set” bonuses require 4+ pieces of the same type.
