Action vs Tab Target: Which Mode is Better?

You can toggle modes with Z (default).

• Action Mode: Crosshair aiming. You must physically aim your arrows/spells.
• Tab Mode: Old School MMO. Lock on, press button, spell tracks the target.

Which one gives more DPS? / Damage?

Surprisingly, Action Mode often has higher modifiers.

• Headshots: Action mode arrows can headshot for Crit damage. Tab mode arrows always hit the chest (standard damage).
• Miss Chance: In Action mode, you can miss. In Tab mode, you are subject to the RNG “Dodge/Miss” stat of the enemy.

Recommendation

• Rangers/Mages: Use Action Mode for skill shots, Tab for guaranteed finishers.
• Melee: Tab mode is often safer to ensure you don’t whiff a cooldown because the boss turned slightly.
