The Highsword: Unkillable Zealot
The Highsword is what happens when you take a Weapon Master (Fighter) and infuse them with the holy light of a Cleric. You aren’t a healer—make no mistake, your job is to kill—but you are a fighter who refuses to die.
The Synergy: Fighter + Cleric
In Ashes of Creation, your Secondary Archetype (Cleric) generally applies “Augments” to your Primary abilities (Fighter). It doesn’t give you healing spells; it changes how you fight.
- Fighter Core: You still have Gap Closers, Knockdowns, and high physical DPS.
- Cleric Augment (Life School):
- Strike (Fighter) becomes Smite (Highsword): Instead of just dealing damage, your attacks might heal you for a percentage of damage dealt.
- Charge (Fighter) might leave a consecrated patch of ground that heals allies who stand on it.
Best Playstyle
The Highsword shines in Small Scale PvP and Solo Grinding.
- PvP: You are the duelist who wins by attrition. While the Rogue runs out of cooldowns, you are still at 80% health because every hit you landed topped you off.
- PvE: You can tank lighter mobs without a shield because your self-sustain is so high.
Weaknesses
You lack the raw burst of a Dreadnought (Fighter/Fighter) or the mobility of a Strider (Fighter/Ranger). If you get kited, you have no ranged heals to save yourself. You must be in melee range to thrive.
